Bee KC currently manages 70 hives all over KC, giving honey to the hive hosts, spreading the love of bees and providing pollination benefits to the entire area. Your donation will help us with these costs:
Full Hive Materials: $400 per hive
Beekeeping Tools: $100+
Bees for One Hive: $180
A Queen Bee: $40
Bee Suit: $100-200
Observation Hive: $200+
Flyers, signs, and stickers: $1000+ per year
Honey Extractor: $1000
Native Bee Home materials: $75
Payroll For One Week: $1000 per employee
(Simple hive management for our sites is a full time job in itself, then there are school visits, fundraising, wild beehive rehoming, and more)
In addition, our free special events and beekeeping workshops can cost us a few hundred dollars, and extra costs such as gas, pest control measures, supplementary food for the bees, miscellaneous supplies, and more add up. We appreciate any amount you can give, thank you for supporting our work!
